Connecting your Google Business Profile to East13 enables automated review monitoring, local pack tracking, GBP performance insights, and optimization alerts. Here is how to set it up.
Step 1: Navigate to GBP Settings
In your East13 dashboard, go to Integrations and then Google Business Profile. Click “Connect Google Account” to begin the authorization process.
Step 2: Authorize Access
You will be redirected to Google’s authorization page. Sign in with the Google account that manages your Business Profile. Grant East13 permission to read your business information, reviews, and performance data. East13 requests read-only access — the platform will never make changes to your GBP without your explicit approval.
Step 3: Select Your Business Location
If your Google account manages multiple business locations, select the location you want to monitor. You can add additional locations later from the same settings page.
Step 4: Configure Monitoring Settings
Review Alerts
Choose how you want to be notified when new reviews come in:
- Email notifications: Get an email for every new review
- Dashboard alerts: See new reviews in your East13 dashboard
- Both: Receive email notifications and see them in the dashboard
You can also set alert thresholds — for example, immediate alerts for reviews under 4 stars so you can respond quickly to negative feedback.
Local Pack Tracking
East13 monitors your position in Google’s local pack across your target keywords and service areas. Configure your tracking by:
- Adding your primary service keywords (e.g., “plumber,” “emergency plumber,” “drain cleaning”)
- Setting your target geographic area (your service area or specific zip codes)
- Choosing tracking frequency — daily tracking gives the most complete picture
Performance Reporting
East13 pulls GBP insights data including profile views, search queries, customer actions (calls, direction requests, website clicks), and photo views. This data is included in your monthly SEO report automatically.
Step 5: Review Your Baseline Data
Once connected, East13 imports your historical review data and current GBP performance metrics. This establishes your baseline so future reports can show trends and improvements.
What East13 Monitors
- New reviews and rating changes
- Local pack rankings for your target keywords
- GBP profile completeness and optimization score
- Customer actions and engagement metrics
- Competitor GBP activity and review velocity
- Changes to your business information
Troubleshooting
If you do not see your business during authorization, make sure you are signed into the correct Google account. If authorization fails, check that your GBP listing is verified and active. For multi-location businesses, ensure the Google account has owner or manager access to the location you want to monitor.
GBP monitoring is a core part of your local SEO strategy. Once set up, East13 handles everything automatically — you just review the data and take action on insights.
