How Content Improves Over Time

Publishing content is only the first step. The sites that rank long-term are the ones that keep their content fresh, relevant, and competitive. East13 handles this automatically through a closed-loop content improvement system.

How the Improvement Loop Works

Here is what happens after an article is published:

1. Initial scoring — East13 scores the article across 10 quality criteria (relevance, depth, readability, keyword coverage, semantic completeness, and more)
2. SERP monitoring — The system tracks how the article ranks for its target keywords daily
3. 90-day cooldown — After publishing, the article gets 90 days to settle in search results before being rescored. SEO takes time — early rescoring would create unnecessary churn.
4. Rescoring — After 90 days, the article is rescored against the current competitive landscape. If it scores below 85, it enters the improvement queue.
5. Semantic audit — The system compares your article against the top-ranking competitors for the same keyword. It identifies semantic gaps — topics, subtopics, and terms that competitors cover and you do not.
6. Rewrite — East13 rewrites the underperforming sections, fills semantic gaps, updates outdated information, and republishes the improved version to your site.
7. Re-index — After improvement, East13 pings search engines via IndexNow to request fast re-crawling of the updated page.

Priority-Based Improvement

Not all content is improved equally. The system prioritizes based on:

• SERP drops — Articles that have fallen in rankings get highest priority. If you were position 5 and dropped to position 12, that article moves to the front of the queue.
• High-value keywords — Articles targeting keywords with higher search volume or commercial intent are prioritized over informational content.
• Content score — Articles scoring below 70 are improved before those scoring 75-84.

What You See

In your Content → Published panel, each article shows its content score and last-improved date. Articles currently in the improvement queue are marked with an orange indicator. You can click into any article to see its score history and what was changed in each improvement cycle.

Can You Trigger an Improvement Manually?

Yes. If you want an article improved before its 90-day cooldown, you can flag it from the Content panel. This moves it to the front of the improvement queue. Use this sparingly — the 90-day cooldown exists because frequent changes can confuse search engines about your content’s stability.
